- Cyclical Ketogenic Diet (CKD): this type of ketogenic diet gives us some days to recover carb diet i.e. it allows us to have some days where we can have high carb diets, such as 5 ketogenic diet days followed by 2 high-carb diet days.
- Targeted Ketogenic Diet (TKD): this diet gives us the option of adding carbs during the workout sessions.
- High-protein ketogenic diet: this diet has more protein in it. The ratio of different substances is generally 60% fat, 35% protein, and 5% carbs.

As we know it’s a low carb high-fat diet. When we start the ketogenic diet for obesity, the glucose rate starts dropping in our body because of low carb intake. In this case, our body starts switching to its secondary energy source which is fat. Disadvantages of Ketogenic diet:
The ketogenic diet gives us many benefits but in some cases, it may cause some side effects. But generally, side effects caused by the ketogenic diet are not severe and will be gone after some time. Following are the disadvantages –
- In the initial week after we start a ketogenic diet, we may face symptoms like intense hunger cravings, mood swings, sleep disorder, fuzziness, etc. All these are known as keto flu and usually gone in one week.
- Youth under eighteen years are not allowed to have a ketogenic diet.
- Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are also not advised to follow the ketogenic diet.

The ketogenic diet is one such solution that helps us to remove fat faster. We change our diet to a low carb diet to induce the metabolic state known as ketosis.
